Tally Prime stock reconciliation with BPS CA

Connect Tally Prime to BPS CA with BPS Inventory and hold every stock change until the bill and delivery proof match.

BPS Inventory (Windows desktop app) on the PC running Tally Prime; connects to Tally's local XML/ODBC port (commonly 9000) and uses an Admin-minted API key for voucher sync

Prerequisites

  • Windows PC with Tally Prime open and the company loaded
  • Tally XML / ODBC (HTTP) server enabled (commonly port 9000)
  • Admin-minted API key from BPS CA for the BPS Inventory desktop app

Setup

  1. Admin opens /admin/integrations and mints a Tally edge API key (shown once).
  2. Install BPS Inventory (Windows desktop app) on the accountant PC and place the API key in its Tally sync config.
  3. Enable Tally Prime XML/ODBC on port 9000; keep Tally running while BPS Inventory syncs vouchers.
  4. Confirm bridge status on the Accountant bridge view; Admins run Sync Now when ready.

What syncs

  • purchase and sale lines arrive as pending trades (no re-keying)
  • zero-duplicate replay protection on re-sync
  • voided or cancelled ledger invoices mark matching pending rows VOIDED
  • source badges: ZOHO, XERO, QBO, TALLY vs OCR
  • scheduled sync is opt-in
  • tax name, rate and amount per line (GST, VAT, or sales tax as returned by the ledger)
  • Map unrecognised item, party and location names on synced lines to your BPS CA records.

What BPS CA adds before stock moves

Synced lines arrive as pending trades. Purchases wait for a three-way match of the ledger entry, the supplier bill (OCR), and signed delivery proof. Sales and samples need the ledger entry plus dispatch proof. Stock changes only after an Admin confirms, or opt-in auto-confirm on a clean match.

Tally Prime FAQ

Does BPS CA replace Tally Prime?+

No. You keep Tally Prime for accounts. BPS Inventory reads vouchers from the local XML/ODBC port and sends pending trades into BPS CA for warehouse proof.

Why is Tally voucher sync Windows-only?+

BPS Inventory is a Windows desktop app that talks to Tally Prime on the same PC. Cloud ledgers use OAuth instead and do not need the desktop app.

Can Accountants disconnect Tally?+

No. Accountants can run the desktop sync app and view bridge status. Only Admins mint or revoke API keys and manage Integrations.
